Azbell Electronics supports the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)

LTC Gadson was wounded by an IED in Baghdad while returning from a memorial service for two of his Soldiers. LTC Gadson commanded the 2d Battalion 32d Field Artillery. Even during peace time, children of military personnel face the stress caused by an average of six to nine moves between kindergarten and their senior year of high school, from one states education system to another. Today, those stresses are increasingly aggravated by the absence of one or both parents on one or more military deployments to combat zones.

MCEC is a non-profit, section 501(c)3, National and International organization that conducts research on problems affecting military children and develops, publishes, and provides training programs to address those problems. MCEC analyzes and evaluates the results of those programs and disseminates that information, via its staff and its host of truly extraordinary volunteers (many of whom are still directly affected by deployments) throughout our school systems. The 2008 annual MCEC conference brought together military parents, key leaders, educators, and policy makers from all levels in the field of education, and senior military leadership from all services to include the Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey and the Secretary of Defense, The Honorable Dr. Robert Gates. For more information, the MCEC website is located at: http://www.militarychild.org/

Azbell Elections has provided below cost Audio-Visual (AV) support for the MCEC Annual Conference and our military families since 2005. In support of the 2008 Conference, Azbell deployed a team of highly skilled audio-visual engineers and technicians armed with a full suite of audio-visual support systems to include touch panel control systems, dozens of wired and wireless microphones, speakers, projector systems, and projection screens (with up to 200 inch display screens) in over 15 distinct locations located throughout the conference center. The AV Team worked tirelessly from 19 July through 25 July to ensure that the 750 attendees, daily general session speakers, and multiple daily breakout sessions were fully and successfully supported with state of the art audio-visual systems.
